Posted by: pbsurfer | Date: 2009-07-18 14:14:42 | 0 Comments Legendary BozoThe artificial reef idea is one to never to be pessimistic about even with the absolute doom of USA's economy that is still in denial but continuous blame spread around like as if it's universal and not centralized where the real culprits are residing. Some surf spots only need a small improvement but most places should get the full fledged help. If we all got a thousand surfers together for "grab a rock day". Then have a plan and manager to direct the chain of helpers to place underwater cobblestones obviously with some strategy to shape up the surf. So we are talking like ants making a mound that could potentially wash away in big surf. Swami's is a place that only needs a small amount of work for a large improvement to keep it from dieing out so fast. Places like that would get the highest priority since less work for larger payback. Perhaps, volunteers might get so bold as to swim down to relocate rocks until the point-break peels like J-Bay (cuz it doesn't). There would have to be at least 100 volunteers before I get motivated maybe 200. When electricity was in crisis, when Gray Davis was Governor, the night light at Haggerdys was cut off at 12:30am. I went there later to tell them to turn it back the way it was. The guy acted like surfing was a waste/joke. We all really did cut back use on elecricity then. But since we all got highjacked triple rate electricity anyways we all said screw it and put our lights back on. There is a lot of morals to that story but the one about persavering surfing and screwing everything else to it is the one I like.
